Institutions engaged in research projects involving more than one institution may enter into joint IRB reviewing arrangements or rely on the review of one of the institutions’ IRBs. The HPHC IRB may consider accepting review responsibilities for another institution or rely on another IRB for review. To further streamline the cede review process, the HPHC IRB has also signed master reliance agreements when working with certain institutions that are part of SMART IRB.​
